JESSICA LOUISE UNRAVELED: AN INTERVIEW.
What inspires your art? Uniqueness in post production and self expression. I love to see someone do something different and not just apply a preset to an image. To me editing can be such a part of the art it's where I can get creative and really make an image stand out. I also love when a person is raw and shows their vulnerability in their art. That to me is incredibly inspiring for self portraits.
What do you shoot with? Camera body and favorite lens? Nikon D750 and Sigma 35 Art
What other ways do you express your creativity? I love to paint and draw. I haven't had a chance to do it in a few years but i've always had an intense passion for it.
How do you de-stress at the end of the day? Being in nature. I love going for walks with my little family.
What kind of music do you listen to while editing? I actually don't. I normally have the tv on for background noise.
What is your favorite book? Oh my gosh, I haven't read a book in forever! I'm a fan of anything that moves me and makes me think. Plus I like a good cry.
Name one movie that inspires you. I'm not a religious person but I have to go with The Shack. Such a powerful movie!
How do you handle self-doubt or creative slumps? Take a break. I try really hard not to compare myself because this is my journey. You either like me or don't. Inspiration is everywhere but not everything or everyone is going to inspire you.
What has been the most difficult part of your creative journey? Feeling like I don't belong. Because I stick to what I love I find that I don't always flow well with what's trendy.
Who is one of your favorite photographers? Anna Aromin, @seldabelda on Instagram. She has a unique vision and is incredibly talented.
