What inspires your art?

Love! I know I know it is such a cliche thing to say but really that's my jam. I love to shoot love!

What do you shoot with? Camera body and favorite lens?

Canon 6D and Canon 5D Mark IV + Canon 24-70 2.8L and Sigma Art 35 1.4

What other ways do you express your creativity?

I consider myself a "Maker" I just like to make things. I'm the girl who'd rather spend $25 dollars to DYI something that I could have bought for $10 at the store. I feel like there is something so special about being able to create things with your own hands and see the finished product come to life.

How do you de-stress at the end of the day?

Is it sad if I say working? I think my favorite part of the day is once my babes are safely in bed and I can snuggle up to my man on the sofa with a full glass of prosecco and a session to edit. I am one of those girls that de-stresses when she is able to cross things off of her to do list

What kind of music do you listen to while editing?

The most eclectic mix of music you have ever heard. A little Macklemore, a little Tupac, some Zepplin, some Civil Wars, and don't forget Beyonce. Seriously, its the most mixed up collection of songs ever.

What is your favorite book?

This is like choosing a favorite photorapher, I don't know if I can choose only one. Some of my favorites are Bossy Pants by Tina Fey, the 5 Love Languages, and Girl Wash Your Face.

Name one movie that inspires you.

Normally you will find me watching mindless comedies because they help me relax and get out of this intense brain of mine but as someone who has a parent who has been in the movie industry for the last 2 decadesI feel like I should have some really epic response, but I don't. The truth is one of my favorite inspirational movies is probably What Dreams May Come. The storyline is deeply personal for me and I just love the depth and beauty that of the story.

How do you handle self-doubt or creative slumps?

I am not sure I really do... luckily I have been through enough slumps that I am now able to step away when I am struggling and remind myself that every single time I am in a slump I learn something that helps me grow and evolve as an artist. So I allow my self to wallow for only a moment and then I ask myself " What the hell is making you so upset? Oh, you hate your editing right now?? Cool, how do you fix that?" And then I move on.

What has been the most difficult part of your creative journey?

Honestly, I suck at patience. I am a very instense worker and so I expect results for my hard work to come quickly. But the reality is when you are a creative who owns their own business you quickly realize that it doesn't work like that. There is a process that is constantly moving and evolving and when you reach the peak you have been working so hard for you realize you already have your sights set on a higher peek so the idea of "successful results" is truly a realtive concept in this industry.

Who is one of your favorite photographers?

Hardest question ever. I am in this business because I am deeply and madly in love with the art of it all so it is impossible to try and whittle my favorite artists down to only one (or even 20 for that matter) I am inspired by sooooo many photographers. So here are a few that I love Jodi Lynn Buckles, Laurie Ashley, Stephanie Tereault, Liz Sparling, Danielle Navatril, Meshea Shaffer, and only a million others.
