Our Students Unraveled | Art is Subjective
I often think about how incredible it would be to let another artist choose the top images for this blog – not because I do not enjoy the task, but rather because it would be extraordinary to see the images they select versus the images I select. Even when I have another team member select the images to be featured, I am always shocked and inspired. They are not always the images that I would have selected and yet when I take a second look, I find myself entranced by them. I often ask myself, “why am I drawn to specific colors and moments and themes and not others?”
I am certain that if another artist selected images, they would be vastly different from these below and yet, isn’t that the beauty of art? It’s so subjective and based on our current emotions and moods and inspirations. I love that we could all be shown 500 images and each select a different favorite.
Albert Einstein said, “creativity is contagious, pass it on”……and I am hoping that these featured images do that a little bit for you today. Take a moment to admire these artists below and also just imagine all the other beautiful creations that were submitted. I am forever inspired by the artists I surround myself with at Unraveled.
Unraveled Artist of the Year
Each week, we choose one artist to be named as an Unraveled Artist of the Year. We look forward to sharing our 2019 list of noteworthy artists in the next coming months.
This week, we choose Kristen Ryan whose image epitomizes Fall, childhood and a boy’s best friend. Congratulations Kristen!
