There are images that feel tender.
And then there are images that hold you.
This photograph does exactly that.
Framed between two parents mid-laugh, this baby’s gaze anchors the entire image—wide, honest, and quietly aware. The intimacy here is unmistakable: bodies close, warmth shared, a moment unfolding without performance. The composition is intentional but unforced, allowing connection to take center stage. Soft winter tones, gentle light, and thoughtful framing create a sense of safety and belonging—like we’ve been invited into something real and fleeting.
This is the kind of image that reminds us why we photograph families in the first place.
Paige Statz has been a member of Unraveled Academy for just shy of a year, and in that time she has truly dived in. She shows up. She studies. She experiments. And most importantly—she applies what she’s learning while still trusting her own voice. Her work reflects growth without imitation, skill without rigidity. The art she’s creating is informed by education, but unmistakably her own.
We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Paige in person at our Norfolk retreat, and getting to witness her curiosity, openness, and dedication firsthand made it even clearer: she’s just getting started.
