When Jocelyn Kuhlmann joined Unraveled in June, she jumped in with curiosity, courage, and a real willingness to try things that felt a little risky. That kind of eagerness—to grow, to experiment, to lean into creativity instead of playing it safe—is something we’re endlessly inspired by.
This image is a perfect example of why. Yes, it’s a portrait of a cat. But just look at it. The light. The expression. Those CATchlights. It’s charming, intentional, and technically strong, but more than anything, it made us smile. It made us laugh. And that matters.
We often feel pressure for art to be deep, serious, or monumental to be worthy. But sometimes the most powerful thing an image can do is shift someone’s mood. A giggle can change an entire day. This portrait does exactly that—quietly, confidently, and without apology.
So sure, someone might say, “I don’t get it, It’s just picture of a cat.” And it is.
But damn… it’s a really good one.
Congratulations, Jocelyn. We can’t wait to see where this next year of creating takes you.
