“Photography has no rules, it is not a sport. It is the result which counts, no matter how it is achieved.”
– Bill Brandt
Please put your hands together for our newest Unraveled Artist of the Year:
Joan Arpaia
Joan Arpaia is a photographer based in Scotch Plains, NJ, and a Studio Art graduate from the University of Vermont. During her time at UVM, she explored a wide range of mediums, including painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, and art history. These diverse experiences have shaped how she sees and captures the world through her lens. For Joan, photography isn’t just about capturing a moment—it’s about creating art. Her passion transcends traditional portraiture. Drawing from her creative education, Joan transforms her subjects into striking works of art, showcasing their unique qualities in a deeply personal way. Each portrait blends technical expertise with artistic vision, resulting in timeless, meaningful images.
Congratulations to Joan and all the talented artists featured on the blog this week!
We can’t wait to see more from this incredible group!
