To photograph truthfully and effectively is to see beneath the surfaces and record the qualities of nature and humanity which live or are latent in all things.

— Ansel Adams

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWEST UNRAVELED ARTIST OF THE YEAR…

Courtney Maxwell:

Courtney Maxwell isn't someone who takes pictures, she is a soulful artist and it shows in her work. Based in Aspen, her work is rooted in storytelling with an editorial edge. Think windblown hair, raw connection, and the kind of light that makes you pause.

She has a way of seeing people that feels intimate and true—like she’s not just documenting your life, but reflecting it back to you in the most artful way. Her images are nostalgic without trying to be, and honest without ever feeling posed.

Courtney’s not here for the fluff—she’s here for the real, the soulful, and the kind of beauty that lingers. We are so thrilled to have her as a member of Unraveled and we are even more thrilled to nominate her for Artist of the Year in 2025.

CONGRATULATIONS Courtney and to ALL OF THE FEATURED ARTISTS!
