Located in Clive, Alberta, Martina is the mother of three and owner of Wild Autumn Photo. On her website, she lists her children as her “why" and her love for them radiates through the warmth and serenity in her images of them. Here is Martina, Unraveled…
What inspired your art?
Most importantly My kids. Other photographers. Scenery.
What do you shoot with? Camera body and favorite lens?
Canon 5D Mark iii (just upgraded to the 5D Mark iv) Canon 50 mm 1.2 & 35 mm 1.4. Although my 35 rarely leaves my camera body
What other ways do you express your creativity?
I feel like a lot of that gets expressed through my home decor. I love making my home somewhere I want to be.
How do you de-stress at the end of the day?
Watching a TV show and spending time with just my husband after the kids are in bed.
What kind of music do you listen to while editing?
About half the time Country music and the other watching whatever TV show I'm currently going through.
What is your favorite book?
I'm not sure I can pick one favorite book.
Name one movie that inspires you.
Artistically anything Wes Anderson. Emotionally I love Pride & Prejudice (with Keira Knightley)
What has been the most difficult part of your creative journey?
Comparison. I find myself needing to stop and take a break from social media when I can see it happening.
