Unraveled Expert Artist | Kathy Izzy, Unraveled

Kathy Izzy is a mother and photographer located in California who serves the Sacramento and Bay areas. She is a storyteller who emphasizes both connection and love in her imagery. She prefers to shoot during sunset and highlights a beautiful quote by Beau Taplin, “sunsets are proof, that endings can often be beautiful too.” We are honored to have Kathy within our community and as an Unraveled Expert Artist; we admire the warmth, calmness and hopefulness found within her work. She reminds us to look for the beautiful and good, and to ignore all the rest.

What inspires your art?

My passion for photography came about once our little princess came to this world. She’s the little miracle that makes life complete and my passion just grew stronger trying to capture her milestones in life. I just knew once I picked up the camera that this is what I wanted to do. My husband Nick has been equally supportive with my photography journey.

What do you shoot with? Camera body and favorite lens?

I shoot with a Canon Mark IV and Mark III. My favorite lenses are the Canon 50mm 1.2L, Sigma 35 mm, and Canon 85 mm 1.8.

What other ways do you express your creativity?

Aside from photography, I also do crafts on the side using my cricut.

How do you de-stress at the end of the day?

Go for walks with my husband and daughter. That sounds perfect right now.

I love pop, hiphop and R&B.
