November has arrived, the clocks have turned back, and just like that, we're entering the slower season. And this year we are not following the narrative that it is something we dread. In fact we're welcoming it with open arms.
There's something beautiful about this time of year. The days get shorter, the light shifts, and nature reminds us that not everything is meant to bloom year-round. Maybe we could all take the hint.
As photographers, we've spent months documenting everyone else's stories. Now feels like a good time to slow down, turn inward, find inspiration in the ordinary, and make a little room for ourselves again.
And what better way to welcome this new season than by finding a little inspiration in the work of another incredible artist from our community?
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWEST UNRAVELED ARTIST OF THE YEAR…
Our NEWEST 2026 Artist of the Year is Julie Ryan
There's just something about Julie Ryan. Not only is she a valued member and instructor here at Unraveled, but we've also been lucky enough to get to know her on a more personal level through multiple UA retreats over the years. And we can confidently say, we fucking LOVE her!
This image is a little different from the work we're used to seeing from Julie, and that's exactly what we love about her. She's an incredible artist who isn't afraid to step outside her comfort zone, experiment, and see where her creativity takes her. Because sometimes the best thing we can do as artists is give ourselves permission to fuck around and see what happens.
We absolutely adore this woman and everything she brings to our community.
Congratulations to Julie and to ALL of the Artists of Unraveled!
Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep creating.
