Here is Victoria, Unraveled…

What inspires your art?

My children, dance and music. So many things really!

What do you shoot with? Camera body and favourite lens?

Canon 5D Mark IV. My favourite lens in my Sigma 24-70mm 2.8 art

What other ways do you express your creativity?

Dance - I can’t do everything I used to be able to do but it definitely still has a special place in my heart.

How do you de-stress at the end of the day?

Lately it has been a glass of wine while watching ‘Schitt’s Creek.’

What kind of music do you listen to while editing?

Depends a lot on my mood and what I am editing but can vary from Rüfüs Du Sol or M83, to a true crime podcast.

What is your favourite book?

I read a lot of children’s book these days and one of my favourite authors is Oliver Jeffers, so any book by him. One ‘adult’ book that I have read lately which I loved was ‘The Resilience Project’ by Hugh van Cuylenburg.

Name one movie that inspires you.

Taika Waititi’s ‘Jojo Rabbit,’ he really is so clever!

How do you handle self-doubt or creative slumps?

I try to step back and take a break, especially from social media.  Most of the time it’s just about getting out of a particular headspace!

What has been the most difficult part of your creative journey?

Most definitely self-doubt and comparing my work to others!

Who is one of your favourite photographers?

Annie Leibovitz. I was given her book ‘Dancers’ for my 21st birthday and her work with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Mark Morris and the White Oak Dance Project will always be one of my favourite series of photographs.
