What inspired your art?
Feelings and light, always. Sometimes I use my art to work through things that I'm going through, and sometimes, it's all about the light that I see.
What do you shoot with? Camera body and favorite lens?
I shoot primarily with a Nikon D750 and sigma art 35.
What other ways do you express your creativity?
I love to watercolor, and I love experimenting with florals.
How do you de-stress at the end of the day?
'm a bath & skin care junkie so I loooooooove to have a good soak and then put all of my potions on. ha! But also, a good long hug from either one of my boys (husband or son) works too.
What kind of music do you listen to while editing?
All kinds! I go through phases-some days it's all Fetty Wap, and others it's Kacey Musgraves.
What is your favorite book?
Too many to name! Reading is my favorite! I just finished Educated by Tara Westbrook and it was amazing!
Name one movie that inspires you.
Not a movie per se, but I watch the visual album version of Lemonade by Beyonce pretty frequently. It's incredible!
How do you handle self-doubt or creative slumps?
Ahhh, the good ol' creative slump. Sometimes it calls for putting down my camera and picking up a paintbrush, and sometimes it calls for bringing my camera everywhere we go.
What has been the most difficult part of your creative journey?
Pushing past fear for sure! Trying to get comfortable not being comfortable. Ha!
Who is one of your favorite photographers?
Again--how could I ever narrow this down?! I'm really digging Jennifer Lawrence right now! Her use of color is awe-inspiring. Brittany DeJesus is an amazing and empowering artist as well! And I adore the soulfully honest work of Monica Hart.
