Unraveled Artist Feature | June 3rd, 2026

One of the most beautiful things about Unraveled is that it brings artists from all over the world into one shared space.

Different countries. Different stories. Different seasons of life. Different styles, perspectives, and lived experiences — all connected through photography and the desire to create something honest.

In a world that can feel increasingly disconnected, there is something really special about watching artists gather in one place to learn, share, grow, and cheer one another on. Week after week, we get the honor of witnessing work that feels deeply personal, wildly creative, and undeniably them.

This week’s Artist Feature is a reminder that finding your voice doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in community. In spaces where people are brave enough to share their work, encourage one another, and keep showing up creatively.

We’re so excited to celebrate this week’s featured artists and the beautiful work they’re making.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWEST UNRAVELED ARTIST OF THE YEAR…

Carly Henderson

Artist of the Year: Carly Henderson | Hidden Lives Photography

There is something about this image by Carly Henderson that stops you for a second.

Not because it is loud. Not because it is overly styled or trying to prove anything. But because it feels deeply true.

The kind of image that quietly reminds you what photography can do when we stop chasing perfection and start paying attention.

At first glance, it feels simple: a mother holding her child. But stay with it a little longer and the details begin to unfold. The tiny arm stretched high in the air. The soft grip of little fingers against mama’s face. The warmth in the tones. The tenderness of a forehead pressed close. And then, maybe most importantly, the expression on baby’s face — safe, curious, completely at ease.

Nothing here feels forced.

Carly has a way of photographing connection that feels lived-in rather than performed. Her work often feels like stepping into a real memory instead of observing a posed moment. There is honesty in it. Familiarity. The kind of imagery that makes you feel something because you recognize pieces of yourself inside it.

Compositionally, this image pulls you in beautifully. The embrace creates a natural frame, wrapping your eye exactly where it needs to go. The closeness feels immersive, almost like we are sitting right beside them in the quiet of an ordinary moment that someday won’t feel ordinary at all.

And maybe that is exactly what makes Carly’s work so special.

She reminds us that the magic is not always in the grand gestures.

Sometimes it lives in a cheek pressed against someone you love.

A tiny hand reaching for your face.

A moment that would have otherwise passed unnoticed.

Carly Your work feels like home.

Congratulations to our Artist of the Year, Carly Henderson of Hidden Lives Photography and to all the featured artists of Unraveled..
