Unraveled Artist Feature | April 28th, 2026

When the quiet ones, the unsure ones, the ones full of doubt who start to wonder if they should even be holding a camera in the first place, begin to unapologetically own their talent and take up space, it is truly a magical thing.

One of the best parts of Unraveled being around for almost ten years now is that we have artists who have been with us since the very beginning. Artists we knew in their infancy, when they couldn’t soak up enough learning and inspiration. Artists who later couldn’t bring themselves to pick up their cameras and doubted everything. Artists we have watched leave, return, break open, rebuild, and begin again.

We have been there for births, rebirths, divorces, moves that uprooted lives, the loss of loved ones, and so many of life’s big, holy, messy moments. And through it all, our womanhood and our love for the arts have kept us bound. Cheering each other on through the echoes of this virtual world, where our art is held and lifelong friendships have been made.

Check out this week’s Unraveled Academy Artist Feature. From the Unraveled OGs to the fresh faces who have found their way to us, we celebrate you. The life you have built. The art you are making. The person you are becoming.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWEST UNRAVELED ARTIST OF THE YEAR…

Shelby Vercelli

Shelby Vercelli is an Unraveled original gangster. A member since 2018, which means she has grown right alongside us. Someone we have had the privilege of watching evolve into the artist she is today. The kind of artist you look at now and can hardly believe ever questioned herself or her place behind the camera.

Shelby has been to several Unraveled retreats, and if you have ever met her, you know her smile is as warm as the work she creates. She is thoughtful. She is kind. She is the kind of person who makes you feel seen just by being in her presence. The kind of mother you wish you had. Beautiful inside and out in a way that quietly lingers.

And this image feels like her.

Soft but intentional. Intimate without trying too hard. The kind of moment that could have easily been missed, but wasn’t. The way the bodies fold into each other, the quiet connection, the gentleness in the hands… it feels less like a photograph and more like a memory.

This is what happens when someone stops questioning and starts trusting. When they lean into what feels true instead of what feels expected.

Congratulations Shelby, and to all of the artists of Unraveled. The way you see, the way you feel, the way you create… it deserves to be celebrated.

Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep creating.
